This course is intended to provide an overview of the Caribbean which will give insights into religious, social, economic, and cultural issues. It covers the developments from the immediate 1492 period to the end of the 20th century. While it treats, in its spatial, the Anglophone, Francophone, Hispanic and Dutch Caribbean, it focuses special attention on the English-speaking Caribbean. The focus is interdisciplinary and thus establishes a sound ‘foundational context’ relevant to all disciplines.  This course has been specially designed for students majoring in Law in the UG-UWI LLB Degree Programme and is a HYBRID course.
