This course aims to familiarize students with the historical progression and evolution of the Respiratory Care profession, along with offering insights into the employment landscape, educational pathways, and the requisite qualifications for becoming a Respiratory Care practitioner. Moreover, the course serves as an initiation into the hospital milieu and scenarios that Respiratory Care practitioners might encounter. These include interpersonal dynamics, effective communication, ethical considerations in medicine, managing occupational stress, coping with burnout, and addressing matters related to mortality. The curriculum will cover a variety of subjects including the historical context of Respiratory Care, associations dedicated to the field, the importance of evidence-based and high-quality Respiratory Care, ensuring patient safety, strategies for infection control, the extent of professional responsibilities
